Butler splits into two worlds. The West Chester and Liberty Township end feels like north Cincinnati. Hamilton, Middletown and Oxford feel like their own towns. Which end you live in changes the job completely, so it is the first thing we ask.
Getting around. Butler is long. Oxford to West Chester is forty minutes and they are the same county. SR-129, the Butler County Veterans Highway, and I-75 do most of the work. We will not put you on a placement that has you crossing the whole county twice a day unless you tell us that is genuinely fine.

Where the work actually happens in Butler County
A good part of this job is getting somebody out of the house and into their own community. Knowing the area is a real advantage, and if you already know these places you are ahead before you start. In Butler County that regularly means:
- Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park in Hamilton, which is unusual and worth knowing about
- Voice of America MetroPark in West Chester
- Rentschler Forest and the Great Miami River trails
- Liberty Center for an easy afternoon out
- Miami University's campus and uptown Oxford
- The Fairfield and West Chester libraries
Plus the ordinary things that matter just as much. The grocery run, the barber, the pharmacy, the appointment somebody was dreading. You are not an activities coordinator. You are the person who makes an ordinary week possible.

Butler is our third busiest county and it is chronically short of staff at the Middletown and Oxford ends specifically.
Referrals here come to us through Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities and the statewide system. We do not control when a case appears. What we do control is whether we already have somebody local, cleared and ready when it does, which is the entire reason this page exists.

Requirements
- DODD eight hour orientation certificate, or willingness to complete it
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Valid driver's license, a reliable vehicle and current auto insurance
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Social Security card, for I-9 verification
- Experience as a DSP, STNA, HHA, caregiver, home health aide or personal care aide is welcome. We also train the right person
